I haven't been getting any AmigaOS updates for a while so I reverted some OS4 components to be sure I see some updates and know it's working. I still got nothing and here is a an error I found in the AU log:

12:19:28 Synchronising with server: 'update.amigaos.net'...
12:19:28 Requesting HTTP header file from server...
12:19:28 Testing for active network connections...
12:19:28 Found interface Interface, testing...
12:19:28 Interface is currently configured, checking state...
12:19:28 Interface is UP, check complete
12:19:28 Trying to connect to: update.amigaos.net on port: 80
12:19:28 Connected
12:19:29 Received HTTP header file...
12:19:29 (404) The file was not found on the server.
12:19:29 HTTPFetch error: Transferring the file was not possible due to a previous error

Does anynone know what's gone wrong? My system is way out of date now.

this is a known problem and already addressed (afaik).
seems the domain is registered somehow twice.
just check http://update.amigaos.net in the browser and you will be pointed to a ferrari page - at least most of the time.

afaik steven already has taken some action.

regards...
michael

I just discovered that if I open the URL in my browser and get the correct page before scanning with AmiUpdate, it works. Either that or it was a coincidence and solie fixed it while I was typing :-)

Once you get it going again, remember that you might have to make several passes of the Scan/Update/Reboot process before everything is up to date. Some new components will not appear in AmiUpdate until their pre-requisites have been installed.
