Hello,

I have buy one So-Dimm 1Go for my MicroAone, but, when i connect this So-Dimm Ram, the microAone don't start, the monitor don't have video signal to open and microAone don't start.

The So-dimm ram of 1 Go is ATP 1024Mb PC133 ECC

AN28V72X8SSGAS

I have U-Boot 1.1.1

Have you got solution?

Thanks

It obviously doesnt like your RAM. A1 is very picky.
I put an 512MB PC133 in and had same problem. Solution (not the ideal solution), change the bus to PC100 spec.
It then worked fine, but the CPU speed is obviouly dropped, so I tweaked the CPU settings (very dangerous if you dont know what your doing) to get it up to 900MHz.
Been running rock solid for over 2 years.

Ok, it is really hard problem? no U-Boot version problem?

Well, i try your solution christopher, thanks a lot ;-)

How do to modify bus speed of MicroAone, all config with jumper is at 133Mhz speed bus?!!!

Thanks

There you go, as I said though, messing with the CPU voltages can be dangerous.

I think 1GB with 133Mhz FSB maybe possible. You may need PC150 SDRAM in-order for this to work, but would expected a very small number of 1GB PC133 to work.

It maybe a good idea to know what make/type of memory other user(s) are using.

I will be looking at SDRAM,DDRx performance hopefully in the future.

On the A1s the memory performance is limited by the Articia northbridge. No amount of tweaking at a software level is going to fix that.

It is my opinion (only) that the address and/or data line drivers are just not strong enough. In the early days of the A1, it was suggested to use buffered memory to lower the bus load, but that doesn't always work.
Never owned or played with a µA1, but I guess it's the same as the A1-XEs. I've never known one that ran stably with two memory DIMMs, although some people claim to be lucky.

Perhaps PM to one or more user(s) in link(s) below can solve the problem.

I am not 100% sure of this because I don't own any of this type of computer. I think the problem could be the loading affect on each module. There is also a set-up time, this is why it is recommended to get faster memory module than your bus speed.

There are user(s) that have PPC750 which is capable of 200Mhz bus,it will be interesting if any user(s) got anywhere near that bus speed.
