Problems with MassStorage V53.17

Hi,
I'm having a few problems with my external USB devices, since the update to the new Mass Storage device. I'm still sorting out the details and will post more when I have more information, but there's one thing straight off the bat I'll query.
I have an external Seagate Expansion USB3 1 TB drive. It has a couple of JXFS partitions on it. Now, when I select the drive icon, write click and go "Information", it reports the handler as L:CrossDosFileSystem. The other partitions are SFS/02, and report the handler as Smartfilesystem 1.290.
Is that right? My HD partitions all report JXFileSystem 4.34 as their handler, as does my un-updated Sam460 when I plug the USB drive into that.
Or perhaps now that JXFS is no longer supported, it has been incorporated under CrossDOS as an "alien" filesystem?
*Edit: Just some extra info:
My system is A1-XE 800 mhz.
The USB interface is a USB 2 card chipset ALI - M5273 A1
The SAM is a SAM460, motherboard USB
