MassStorage V53.17 Usb DVD Drive Problem

I have an external usb liteon dvd drive hooked to my AmigaOne 500. With the new update of the massstorage driver, it does not assign the correct filesystem to my DVD drive. For example, the old massstorage driver (V53.13) would automatically choose CDFS as the file system and then I could use the DVD+RW Dosdriver for the drive with no problem. With the new one, it gives it the file system of SFS. Then I have to open the massstorage interface and change it to CDFS. When I do that, it assigns it USB unit 1, but does not delete USB unit 0. So, for this one usb dvd drive, usb unit 0 is SFS and is essentially dead, and then underneath in the list is usb unit 1 with CDFS and the drive runs fine (Basically, this one usb dvd drive has unit 0 (SFS) and unit 1 (CDFS)). With the old massstorage drive, the usb dvd drive would be usb unit 0 with CDFS as the filesystem automatically.
Also, under the old massstorage, if I had a DVD in the drive that is formatted using DVD+RW, AmigaOS would boot just fine. Then I would activate the DVD+RW dosdriver and the icon for my formatted DVD would appear on the workbench. Under the new massstorage driver, if a formatted DVD+RW disc is in the drive, AmigaOS stops booting as gives me a requester saying the disc in USB0: is not a dos disk. It appears as if it is trying to boot from the DVD. I think this has something to do with the new massstorage not assinging it the correct CDFS file system, but I am not sure.
I also have a floppy drive attached on the USB and have the disc formatted with SFS2 (LOL), and that appears to be operating just fine. The new massstorage assings it the correct file system (SFS2) right from the start, so no problem.

The new massstorage.usbfd will never reassign a unit number so that is normal behaviour. As for why it doesn't default to using CDFileSystem I don't know why that isn't working. None of the beta testers reported issues.

The new massstorage.usbfd can boot from any device it recognizes. DVD's have a higher priority so it is probably trying to boot as it is supposed to.

It definately is not assigning the right file system to the DVD drive. It is possible that this update has made my external dvd drive no longer compatible. I got this external DVD drive because a seller off of ebay sent be the wrong item, which happened to be this external dvd drive, and I just kept it and started using it. It is a liteon model enau 708-1128.
As far as the booting, I have been giving this some thought and it did change the way AmigaOS handles the booting process when a dvd is in the drive. It should scan it, see that it is not bootable and move on to a bootable drive that is available. However, under the update, it scans it, seeing it is not a bootable disc then errors out (USB0: is not a valid dos disk), instead of moving on to the next bootable device that is available which it was doing before the massstorage update. I know the boot sequence well from the classic days. If you had an Amiga with a bootable hard drive, it would first scan the disk drive, see if it is bootable disk, if not, move to the hard drive. It would not say DF0: not a valid dos disk and stop.
Anyways, I was laughing to myself because I am probably the only Amiga User with a USB external dvd drive and a external USB disk drive

You mention you have the DVD+RW mountlist in use? If that is setup as SFS as it is by default, it might well cause the not a dos disk error. Try removing it and seeing what happens.

I tried that. I took the DVD+RW away and it is still assigning the wrong filesystem to the DVD drive. It seems that some of the DVD drives are incompatible with this update I am finding. One user on Amigaworld says it works with his drive, and another says not with his.
