Hi,

with new mui4 update i've some issues specially with the tabs, to reproduce them try to open some tabs in current public version of Odissey, example amigaworld, amigans, os4depot, amiganews.de, play with the tabs activating them, after few times you'll lost the focus (mouse hovering feature) on the tabs when you move the mouse pointer from one to another one it doesn't recognize the pointer over the tab, the CPU goes to 100% very often, i reverted to previous mui and i don't have these issues, another problem is when you try to drag and drop a tab sometime it works sometime it doesn't and in the end you'll get a nice DSI

Working just fine here on my system. However, it's strange that somebody should have this problem. If there really is such a problem, it should be fixed. I suppose that MUI4 is continuelig updating. Hopefully, this will be fixed.

I have all the same problems and already report it some time ago, Thore works on it. Just at least now you can have unlimited amount of tabs without crashes, while d&d need some polishing still

i've just reverted to previous version of MUI4 with rollback function of AmiUpdate, it's more stable and it doesn't busy cpu to 100%

But even on this one still some bugs, just for test i opened some blank tabs until i will have the two arrows visible, (one at the left and the other one at the right) then if i clicked on the left arrow --> both arrows will disappear completely rathen then just switched to the adiacent tab as it was before with the old MUI OWB 1.9

Another bad side effect of this one is that the previews and not more visible tabs will be closed in background..

Can say that In general still many many problems with the OWB tabs (OWB 1.16 + MUI4 r3083)

1 - The new drag&drop for the tabs always crash
2 - Often tabs appear as selected even when they are not selected, and now that Thore implemented also the mouse hovering into the Title class the issue is even worse than before .. of course taked as is the feature is pretty cool, but first we need to solve all that issue on the OWB tabs
3 - If you click with the mouse into an already selected tab, then the tab will be pressed --> this make a visible and quite annoying flickering effect
4 - Trasparence issue still, for example the throbbler animation (the small image in tab when you loading a page) will loose its trasparencies when you switch to a new tab during loading

And probably still more ..

I told you few times already, in 1.9 we use custom hacked tabs, and they suck. Even if current implementation in mui4's dinamic tabs have bugs, they will be fixed and everything will be fine. New code added to mui4 mean dynamic tabs for everything, not only for odyssey, and Thore implement it all from scratch, which is not very easy. Of course there will be bugs ! Report them all and help to make dinamic tabs code better. Its all out for all of you to have mui4 right now, and i says with odysseys release info that tabs is work in progress for which Thore put a lot of time already.

Report everything there with step-by-step how to reproduce, Thore will deal with them i am sure. I.e. all the usuall stuff, hard reboot, run odyssey what and where to press to show problems. Yes i'm in contact with him, but no need in this case really .. the "arrows issue" is not so complicated to verify: just open some blank tabs until you have the arrows showed into your tabs area, then try to press that arrows and see if you can move around them ..

About the other issues:

Bug 1 --> again just select a tab and try to drop it somewhere and you will see the crash

Hidden Text - Click to Show :

Bug 2 --> Just open some tabs during navigation, it's all pretty visible
Bug 3 --> Click into the tab you are using --> an already selected tab doesn't need to have a "pressed effect" (OWB 1.16 only)
Bug 4 --> Again pretty easy to see .. a not selected tab have always a problems with the transparencies

And ? I explain you everything already. Old code suck and wasn't mui4 compatible. It was custom hacked code, to make tabs "somehow works in mui3 way". That mean bunch of limitations, which you may not see now, but you will see them once you will compare mui4 dinamic tabs (once bugs fixed) with our custom tabs. I know what you think "if it works before, and not works now, then it suck": but its not. I explain few times already: mui4 dinamic tabs are way to go, and its should be there, and it will be fixed soon or later and everything will be fine. Even if it have bugs now, it does not mean it worse that our previous mui3 related code. Just be patient and report stuff, without all that "and probably more.." , "but it works for every thing before, now its crap!". Sure, _right now_ you may feel sad that it not works as should work, but such a life, just wait for fixes.

Naa no problem for that, Thore is always very fast to reply (and help) and always very kind to ..

So just wait till he will fix all those bugs. Currently all i can do its only point in BZ which i already create about all of this to that thread.
