The subject title says it all really! Not a lot more to say really - AmigaOS needs WiFi support sooner rather than that later.

I agree that we need modern internet support. Not just in term of WiFi, but the whole internet thing on the Amiga.

The Roadshow internet protocol (think it's a protocol) could be faster and more modern. The latest net support is the 802.11ac and IPv6. We need these.

The biggest question is HOW these things are going to be implemented, but we can agree that these things are highly needed, along with modern WiFi support.

Thank you zzd10h, seems like a great idea, just need to check house router for compatibility first, but seems like an excellent workaround.

It exists as PRISM2 driver

However, that it should be part of OS (some basic WiFi connectivity and drivers)
and that newer boards (X2000 ?) should have it onboard, I agree.

I assume that device needs no special drivers as it takes care of everything.

Correct. It is seen by the computer as if you were connected via regular cabled Ethernet (which you are, from the computer to the WNCE-2001).

You will need to log into the device with a browser, once you have connected it via the Ethernet cable, and set it up as a device on your LAN/WiFi, but that is all covered in the accompanying manual. Also, if your router supports WPS, use that, it makes the whole process much simpler, and you can always change it once you have the basics up and running, if the automatic setup is not exactly what you wanted.

Ofc ATM I have no idea whether the router is capable or not. Its a bog standard one from Virgin Media if anyone else reading is familiar with the device.

Found one on eBay - worth a shot.

Don't worry,
it's very easy to use and the configuration windows are even usables with MUI-OWB.

The Superhub? That's an 802.11n device, there's no reason why the NetGear won't work with it. I have a TP-Link (701ND?) which is similar (to the NetGear) and works perfectly with it.
