OS4.1 and IDE-Fix Express, hardly ever reboots okay

Hi all!
My specs:
Amiga 1200 Kickstart 3.1 (40.68), Elbox Power/Winner tower, BlizzardPPC 603e+ @240mhz & 060 @50mhz, 256MB 60ns, BlizzardvisionPPC, IDE-fix Express, IndivisionAGA, 120GB IDE, cd, dvd, Cocolino, Micronik Keycase, PCMCIA Ethernet.
My problem:
System fails to restart after running bootloader with more than 1 IDE drive attached. The more drives I attach, the less chance of OS4.1 booting. With just the hard drive on port 1 and a cdrom on port 2 of the IDE-Fix I have around 10% chance of it booting. With another CD drive attached to either port, this drops to around 1%..

Ive tried loads of different settings in ppc menu, kicklayout- and diskboot.config, but Im for sure no expert and might have missed something crucial.

Sorry for asking the obvious since you have tower but have you checked power issues? Maybe it is not about how many drives you connect but how much power consumption is rising when you connect another devices? On the other hand I don't have A1200 or IDA-Fix so this is just my guess.

Thanks, its a perfectly valid question

But power and cooling have been taken care of. Ive invested loads and loads of time and money in this system, Im a perfectionist

anyone from hyperion willing to comment? ide-fix is supposed to be supported and os4.1 is expensive enough. please help me get this working.

I assume it works without the IDEfix Express, so have you tried a known working one (known to work in OS 4.1)? The FastATA 4000 is "supposed" to work with OS 4.1, but that was an older firmware version; the newer versions crashed.

well, can anyone tell me which version I need or works for them?
the trouble is Im booting up from wb3.1 so there idefix is already made reset-resident. (though Im not sure if it stays resident when bootloader is active). I dont run idefix from the startup-sequence of os4.1, since the drive is entirely recognised. afaik there is no c:idefix on the os4.1 cd either. its just the atapiismajick thingie in bootloader, which I have ofcourse enabled.
btw, I went the idefix route, not the fastata route since there were already troubles with os4.0 and fastata.

Lets keep it sensible: I am very annoyed I do not get proper support for this expensive piece of software. This is my last post in this thread. If there is no 'official' answer given, be aware if you have an IDE-Fix and consider purchasing OS4.1 Classic. Bye now.

The problem is that not many of the Beta Testers would own your type of set up and I'm not sure anyone that does has an IDE-Fix to boot? I Beta tested a A4000 604e using a Fast ATA 4000 but didn't do much with it after we released AmigaOS4.1 which I did plan to fix but real life got rather busy.
What settings do you have in your PPC menu - perhaps take a photo?
What are your diskboot.config details?
and finally, what does the IDE-Fix documentation say about booting and attaching multiple devices? I mean, if it can handle 4 for example you'll need 2 sets of Master and Slave configurations using the right port sequence right?
Just trying to cast my mind back a bit

well, thanks for that. I understand the market is small and its difficult to test many configurations. however, my whole ide-fix / ppc set-up works fine with os4.0 and wb3.9, so there must be something different. I will try to get back on your other questions later.
