Hi all.

What are the Specs of the internal Soundcodec of my X1000 ?

Can i record 24Bit / 96khz with it ?

Is a Digital-IN possibel with the 3pin-header on the Mobo ? or must i use a Soundcard with Digital-IN with it ?

Record-Software will be Audacity2.0

Thanks

Nice ;)

I read in the X1000-Handbook the SPDIF-IN 3-pins onboard are only for Tests.

So its not possible for Digital-Recording ?

We are still working on the AmigaOS audio driver. Once it is available you will find out what is/is not supported regarding hardware features.

But this is the Linux only forum. And Audacity 2.0 was also mentioned. I think zappa2009 is asking about the current Linux driver support, not the future OS4 driver support.

Best regards,

Niels

Thats true. Linux Driver support!

Is also the 3pin Header on the X1000 mobo under Linux useable ? Spdif-IN on Header P14 only for Tests ?

The SB600 provides the path to the codec, but the codec itself is a separate chip.
All the documents in front of me are marked "confidential", so I will be understandably brief in my comments:

The part number of the Codec is provided in the X1000 Technical Reference Manual.
You might be able to download datasheets if you google that part number.

You MUST understand that it is VERY UNLIKELY that all the features of the chip will be supported by every, or even ANY operating system.
So the datasheet will tell you a LOT more than what you can expect from Linux (or OS4!)

What you'll really get is the subset of those features that are common to the Codec chip, the SB600s capabilities, and the capabilities of the sound software in your OS of choice.
I can tell you that some sample rates will not be available due to issues with the SB600...

But that's all I'll offer.. If you want more, you'll have to go digging!
