Screen stays black during booting on my AmigaOne 500.

I just got new Radeon HD6570 card and it works OK except that the screen
stays totally black during booting. I can't reach uboot or early startup menu.
Is that normal?

Certain 6570,6670 ,6750 and 6770 cards have this issue on Sams.In fact I have not been able to get any display at all on my 460ex with a 6750 or 6770.
It may be a Uboot issue and I have reported it to ACube since September 2012. It may only be possible to get the Uboot screen by using a DVI to VGA adapter if your monitor has VGA input.
With my current card ,a 6670 I have the same issue as you do and I use a HDMI connection. If I need the Uboot display I switch to the DVI to VGA adapter .

Problem solved: Changing uboot video output to PCI-E graphics card (instead of onboard gfx)
in uboot preference menu solved the problem...

What version of Uboot do you have ?
Also what resoultion is your monitor ?

This normally depends on you monitor.
the 6570 can do 1920x1080x32 with no problem.

Must say I'm happy with the present screen resolution.
But the sound...it's still annoyingly corrupted...

I hope that they can isolate the sound problem and fix it.
My Sound is ok.

You running a LITE or NORMAL 460ex?
I have found that sound is perfect on LITE, but crackling / doesnt work sometimes on NORMAL.

I guess AmigaOne 500 runs the "normal" 460ex...I didn't know there exists a lite version of 460ex...
