Has anyone had luck getting Basilisk2 to run on the X1000? The startup doesn't list a sb600sata device, and I cannot get the rom image to stay selected. Am I missing the obvious again?
Thank you!

Sorry, I've never used Basilisk2.
Anyone else?

Was it a new install? I originally copied the directory from my XE, then, when that didn't work, I tried an install, but it produced the same results.

Hello
I picked up Basilisk2 from os4deposit and unzipped it.
There is an exe file that starts basilisk2. I had a minimal mac os start hd file and a mac rom file. Both I set up in the config section. I use the funtion "amigaos4 root" to transfer new files to the mac system. Basilisks config file, can you find in env if you want to manually add anything. There should be no problems if you have the correct ROM file and something to start the system with (HD File)
Good luck

I was going for a partition, not a hard file. How fast are the hard files? Fast enough that there's no real need for a decicated partition?
Thank you,

Thank you,
I do not think this version is built for the x1000. Therefore, it lists interfaces that belong to the amiga one not for x1000.
And the device settings ahere re only for cdrom.
I think hard files are good enough for a start but if you more seriously want to use Basilisk then it will be better with a mac partition. Partitions are also only available as scsi on linux . I installed Mac OS 8.1 and seemed to run fairly.

@musa,
A detailed step-by-step guide for installing and using Basilisk2 on the X1000 would be really helpful to many of us that would like to follow it and enjoy our own Basilisk2, on our X1000's.
I know that I for one would like to have MacOS8.x running occasionally at the same time as AmigaOS4.1.5, so I would have more software available to run on this great computer.
Some of my fondest memories of my earlier Amiga days were when I had my A2000 w/Vector 658030/33MHz accelerator & SCSI controller, plus my GoldenGate 386sx25MHz Bridgeboard, and I could amaze my friends by quickly switching from AmigaOS2.1 to Windows3.1 and MacOS7.5.5, or show them MacOS7.5.5 on a screen pulled half way down the monitor, the AmigaOS2.1 Workbench, or program on the screen behind it, and Windows3.1 running something happily on a VGA monitor sitting next to the Amiga branded 17" Microvitec RGB Multi-Sync monitor. Those were great old days. That A2000 was pimped out for the day, even if I did not have a 68040, or the 486slc version of the Golden Gate Bridgeboard. I just wish I could remember half of what I knew then about my Amiga's. Growing old sucks!

Hi
Your story brings back memories. Amiga was truly a magical machine at the time.
A guide? You can find all information on this page. Here is a link to a startup file and link to the mac's old software such as Os 8.1. All files is legal, but you have to obtain or have the rom file. I have mine from old days with a shape shifter and fusion. I use a quad900 rom.

Thanks for the reply, my memories of that time are probably what keeps me hoping that more fun times like that are to be had now and in the future, if I can just get my Next Gen. Amiga systems set up the way I want them and work out a few bugs. Those truly were "Golden Amiga Days", when the Amiga had no real rivals. It was the best computer you could own during that time "Period"!
All of the links on that page you provided, except the updated guide, are broken and don't work. I think I can still find all of my ancient emulated MacOS7.5 stuff from almost 20 years ago, but I don't think there ever was a legal free download for MacOS8.1, and finding a retail version of it now that can be installed on an emulated Mac is going to be really difficult. I am pretty sure I can find my Mac ROM file.
I will contact you here, or via PMail, or email for additional help, if I get stuck when I try to get this setup on my X1000.
