Hi All,

Linus Torvalds has released the RC2 of kernel 6.13 for testing.

I have compiled it for the X1000 and X5000.

Download and further information: github.com

Alternative download link: linux-image-6.13-rc2-X1000_X5000.tar.xz (xenosoft.de)

Please test the kernels.

Thanks,
Christian

I have released the stable long-term kernel 6.12.2 for the X1000 and X5000.
I mistakenly thought this was another 6.13 update when installing it and wondered why my 6.12 release version had changed. Until I noticed the 6.12. Well, did some testing, and it does work fine. :-)

Great! Thank you for testing the stable long-term kernel 6.12.2. :-)

Testing now and working fine. 6.12.4 stable so far. But what happened to 6.12.3? :-D

6.13 RC2 also proves to be stable. Funny. RC2 rock solid but 6.12 stable crashed caja a few times. :-)

OK, I will test Caja with the 6.12.4 as well. Thanks for reporting.

No problem. It's easy to do. Simply boot up and check dmesg! :-D

But, caja is so random. Tonight I booted up the 6.13 RC2 and caja had crashed in libmate. I don't know what it's doing but it has some bug. If the desktop menu keeps closing I know it's playing up. Well onwards and upwards. The RC3 will be coming soon. :-)

For Zstd compressed kernel modules:

Code: Select all

apt install libzstd-dev zstd
