If the X1000 has 1 x 2 GB RAM and it works without any boot problems then does it have a problem with a motherboard?

I answered this question on your support ticket.
You completely overlooked what else I asked you.

Locking this until the support ticket is resolved. I don't think it helps to communicate via multiple channels.

And just to be 100% clear. It was my idea and my idea alone to lock this thread in the first place. I thought it was a bad idea to have multiple communication channels going at the same time.

It is Late now, but I will clarify a few Things tomorrow

O.k. here we are, lets state some facts:

1) my X1000 was delivered on 01/07/2012 (8 month till failure)
2) it has 2GB RAM + Radeon HD 4650
3) problems were first encountered and reportetd to Amigakit on 26th of February:
- sometimes (!) it did not power up -> no LED, Powerbutton seemed to be "temporarly broken" (no LED lighted up either)
- when it powered up, everything went well (expect once, where I didn't even see CFE bootmenu...)
- in the rare cases it powered up, I couldn't switch it off (only through PSU switch).
4) Amigakit replayed a day later, and asked me to
- take photos and to
- check for lables on my board
- report status of debug LEDs on my board
- check for loose contacts => front fan power connector was indeed loose, but that wasn't the cause.
5) after a week silence they asked me wether I could check PSU or not, I couldn't, as I didn't had a sparce PSU + PSU connector was hot glued onto the board
6) this resulted in the request to send my motherboard back to Amigakit...
7) instead I sent my whole X1000, because I did not want to mess around with it, plus all connectors were glued onto the motherboard, however this wasn't a problem for Amigakit.
8) My X1000 arrived at Amigakit at the beginning of April
9) Quality testing of replacement board started on 9th of May at Amigakit
10) After that I had to confirm a different shipping adress and Amigakit repaired bits and pieces on the case, as it got damaged a little during transition.
11) before shipping the gave me the option to have it with our without hotglue
12) finally case was shipped on the 15th of May.
13) Amigakit added about 2 month extra warranty

=> 29 working days, as there have been quiet a few holiday days.

Here is my opinion:
Ordering a Computer from overseas/different country is always a risk. As in case of a warranty claim, it will always be harder, than just bring it back to your local dealer. I knew that beforehand. In case of rare computers/one dealer for the whole world thing, I also knew, that it would take a while...
Amigakit kindly helps to avoid shipping by trying to give "email support" (btw. Dell also does that - Dell allows you to do repairs by your own, rather than sending the broken notebook to them straight away...). As that didn't help, Amigakit
1) replaced the board (quiet likely a new one)
2) added extra warranty
3) repaired transportation damages on my case for free !
4) updated CFE

Having hot glue, in order to keep pieces in place,is for sure a good thing. As connectors tend to get loose very easily (see my front fan connector). My first priority is a working computer at time of arrival, no matter how. And yes X1000 is working fine again, and I hope it will carry on with that for some more years.

great to hear your X1000 is back to normal but it would be doubly great if Amigakit can explain what the problem was exactly as bot xeno and I have the same problem. I've tried replacing my PSU & video card with no help. Now, with Trevor's advice, I will try to get my Debian partition loading again (something about registers?) and if that doesn't work then I'm at a total loss.

THW from A1K.org has the same problems as 328gts and me. Three X1000 have this boot issue.

Just found this thread. Unfortunately you have to add me also in this small list. There are times that my X1000 doesn't want to boot, so I force to press the power-button and try again. It doesn't happen multiple times per day, but it's very annoying.

I thought that the problem was with the printer conntected via the USB hub, but it appears that's not the problem. I don't know if it's the ethernet card that others said. It's the same ethernet card obviously AmigaKit shipped with all X1000s?
