Thank you for testing! :-)

Have you tested the first RC3 or the second RC3(-2) with the support for the KSZ9021RN PHYs (DPAA Ethernet) on the Cyrus+ board?

Have you noticed any differences between the RC3 and RC3-2 when you use the DPAA Ethernet?

New for the RC4:
Creating an initial ramdisk:

First, you need to copy the kernel modules directory to /lib/modules. For example:

Code: Select all

# cp -R 6.11.0-rc4-powerpc64-smp /lib/modules
After that you can create the initial ramdisk with the following command:

Code: Select all

# mkinitramfs -o initrd-6.11.img 6.11.0-rc4-powerpc64-smp
You need an additional step for the X5000:

Code: Select all

# mkimage -T ramdisk -C gzip -n 'Kernel 6.11-rc4 uInitrd' -d initrd-6.11.img uInitrd-6.11

It looks like I forgot to report a few days ago that rc3 appears to work on a couple of my platforms. (Is that the right word? Damn dementia.)

I have no idea what to do about rc4.

Hi Kilaueabart,

Thanks a lot for testing the RC3! :-)

It’s only a preparation of the RC4.

But I will compile the RC4 now. ;-)

Cheers,
Christian

Great news! :-)
Trevor wrote: Christian,

I've just successfully installed RC3 on my X5000/40 running Fienix.

This is the first time I've that Ethernet worked from a cold start without me having to remove and re-insert the Ethernet cable. With all previous Kernels I had to remove and re-connect the Ethernet cable for networking to be initiated.

With RC3 Ethernet worked OK from a cold boot.

Still testing.

Regards,

Trevor

I couldn't send this from Netsurf in Adelie. Everytime I clicked on the .png, the browser conked out.

rc4.png

But anyway, rc4 works in Oakland CA.
