I'm told there is not enough room on the disk and I should remove some files to make room. I'm too dumb to know where to remove them from. The disk that I know about is full of partitions, not files. Does it mean I should remove files from the partition I want to download to?

Yes
Please note: You need at least a 14GB partition for the latest disk image.

Actually, the partition I download that kind of stuff to is my Fienix partition. I deleted a bunch of stuff with browser names from Fienix/Downloads. After all, the real browser code surely wouldn't be in Downloads, but someplace in the Files thing! (But I notice that some of the icons at the top of my Fienix window with browser names no longer work.)
In any event, I was able to download the Adelie stuff, and dearchive it and put the .img file in /dev/sda11, and I am delighted to finally be back in Adelie! Thanks as always for your kind help, Christian.

1. The time in the lower right corner is nine hours ahead of my time. I changed the time zone in System Settings and a clock displays the correct time there. Is there a way to make that time show in the corner?
2. If I click on something that comes up as I check out various things in the All Applications list, I seem to lose control. I can move the arrow around the screen, but I can't click on anything and get results. At first I went ahead and rebooted when that happened but then I found out that pressing the ESC button cures the problem. My old Adelie didn't work like that.

I have the same bugs and use MATE instead.

MATE instead of Adelie?
I have a partition labeled MATE and I think I have a command to boot it, but that is as far as I would be able to go anymore. It would want a password I'm sure.

No, I am mean the MATE desktop. You can load it from the display manager (graphical login).

My time in the lower right corner is correct today! (How long has it been since I last logged in to Adelie?)
