Is there anything I can test/help?
What do I need to create kernel files? or netinstall.ISO files? Too much work/trouble?
Happy new year!!!

ok. will try it now and post it ASAP.
EDIT: did a fresh linux/ubuntu install at the end of my harddrive and using Guided partitioning - select largest continuous free space in the partitioning in the installer Also let the installer set up the boot strap and kernel files by itself.
Rebooted system and got UBUNTU FOR SAM460 Uboot new entry, choosed that one and system booted, but no X windows showed up on ATI HD, maybe some modules didn't get copied on the right place?
Rebooted again and choosed my manually UBUNTU 12.04 Uboot boot option, and it went to X windows without problems.
Will do another test ASAP (next year) and post here again results.
If you try the manual partition and copy boot files as I do, does your linux/ubuntu system boot ok to X windows?

GREAT!!!!
Did some more install test with your ubuntu netinstall (uisng #3) ISO.
I don't get any ATI HD output when using GUIDED PARTITION mode (end of my harddisk, total 3 partitions ext2 '/boot', ext3 '/' and swap).
If I use MANUAL (end of my harddisk, total 2 partitions ext3 '/' and swap) partition disk mode and copy manually boot files no problems X windows loads fine on my ATI HD.

First installation test (all automatic, GUIDED partition) and no problems!!! Everything went fine. GOOD JOB!!!!
Downloaded/installed Opera PPC (writting this using opera). Are the radeon drivers 3D, only 2D or...?
Installed lubuntu minimal+lxde desktop: everything went without any single error/warning/fault
Anything I can test for you?
Again AWESOME JOB mate!!!!
