328gts and xeno74

Just for something to do, try lowering your CPU speed (say by 1/2) and use the
computer normally for a few days resetting now and again. That is, don't
just do reset after reset as a test.

( and No, I'm not thinking it is the CPU.)

If you really think you have a problem with your X1000 then open a technical support ticket with AmigaKit.

http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/support/

However, I noticed you use Linux as well as OS4. Sometimes after a Linux session I noticed that my X1000 would not start-up correctly on power-up.
To make sure I clear the registers after a Linux session I always power down my A1-X1000 at the mains wall socket after I have shutdown the machine with the power down button.

hmmm come to think of it my old Debian install stopped working a while back and I haven't had the chance to do a full Linux reinstall  right now my Linux partition boots up for a minute or so and then always crashes so I'm wondering if reinstalling Linux will stop these odd boot problems :?

Please exchange the X1000. You have a lot of time to find out the problem and you can sell it to another customer as refurbished X1000. This is an 3200 EUR computer. You have to exchange the computer. I need a new X1000 immediately. I can't wait several month to get my repaired X1000.

In the Support Ticket, we have a few other suggestions that may be more practical for you.

You have my answers. My X1000 sometimes didn't boot. The power supply fan runs, the CPU fan runs, and that's all. No video at all. I have unplugged power cords and replugged at the graphics card and power supply. I have exchanged the RAM modules. I have tested the X1000 without mouse, keyboard and other usb devices. Unfortunately nothing of this solved the boot problems.
Why do you not exchange the X1000? You haven't any new X1000, do you? You have a lot of time to find out self the problem and you can sell it to another customer as refurbished X1000.

You have my answers.
Unfortunately we do not: you have not updated your Support Ticket with this information. The Support Ticket documents all the diagnosis of the problem so it is important that all details are posted there so we can help you more efficiently.

We are happy to exchange any faulty component of your X1000 including motherboard that is faulty under the terms of the warranty.
