Has been a week now of not being able to use my X1000 - definitely missing it!
i hope amigakit are able to very quickly identify the issue, quickly repair the board, and quickly ship it back to you at minimal cost. best wishes!

Hi All,

Just to close this issue out (I hate leaving things unfinished), the X1000 was sent to the UK in April 2015 and eventually determined by Varisys to have a CPU issue. Because it is surface mounted on the X1000 it is not easily replaceable, with the repair cost approaching the cost of a new board.

I accepted the offer of a new X1000 board at a good price, and I received the new board yesterday (September 7, 2015). After installing it into the old case the X1000 works fine now.

In addition I bought a new Radeon R9 250X card for it from AmigaKit while waiting to get the X1000 back from the UK, and when connected to the new board, Warp3D SI worked perfectly with it - no changes needed.

I see other people are also having issues with the 270X card on their X1000 too. My advice would be to avoid this model card altogether, as Mike and I ultimately did to resolve the problem.

I am glad to have a replacement working X1000 again, and Warp3D working too. As both Mike and myself are up and running now, this issue can be closed out.

Catcha,
Epsilon

What card(s) exactly are a problem?

I'm asking because I think this is worth adding to the X1000 wiki page

SSolie, as detailed in this thread the XFX R9 270X was no good for me, so I returned that card for an MSI R9 270 and it worked properly straight away. Also, upon logging in here to post this note, I noticed a PM from another user (from August -- so sorry I didn't see it before now!) telling me he had the black screen problem with an MSI R9 270X. Clearly, the "X" is to be avoided until the compatibility problem can be found and sorted.

I saw a forum post somewhere with someone (sorry I forget where) reporting R9 270X working fine, but I have also seen other threads elsewhere reporting problems with the 270X. I won't buy another one on a bet. Heh.

You might add that the r9 270 (non-X) works fine in the x1000.
