Shall I upload it? Or shall I wait because of testing?

Hi.
I will give some comments about last Lubuntu (15) on a sam flex (with radeon 9250).

During installation, I removed my old linux partitions (Lubuntu 14) and install Lubuntu desktop and minimal.
I have the colors screw up like almost in older versions of Lubuntu. I hardly see my pointer for example.
Is there a way to change that?

In /lib/firmware/radeon directory, is there the lastest driver for radeon 9250?

In Lubuntu, I didn't find a way to display the informations about system, processor, kernel versions...

I download last version of kernel (4.0). I copied the files as explained in another thread.
I booted with the new image with no problem.
But in the gzip file, there are three more files like Sam440ep-2.patch. What do I do with these?

Note I tried to install before the debian version. I didn't succed to pass the partition phase (before installation).
I was given the error that my boot partition (/boot) could not be used. No hint why.

Thanks for your feedback.
As I no longer have a working Sam440ep-flex I have to wait for feed back from Sam440ep users.
I have not had any feedback for a long time and have been considering giving up Sam440ep support.

The Lubuntu 15.04 colour problem affects all powerpc machines including Macs.
Only option is to try downgrading the xorg stuff as described for the X1000, Have not tried it myself.
http://forum.hyperion-entertainment.biz ... =40#p33486
The /lib/firmare does have the latest Radeom 9250 firmware .

The programs hardinfo is what is used to display the system information etc.
If it is not installed by default use

Code: Select all

sudo apt-get install hardinfo
to install it
Nice to know that the later kernels like 4.0 work.
The extra files are patch files so that anyone wanting to try to compile a kernel can see what fixes specifically for the Sam440ep were applied to the original source code
The debian installers was done a while ago. I think that I used a ext4 partion option in one of the Debian Jessie ones and this may be causing the problem.
Now that I know that the newer kernels after the 16.00 branch work I can try to make a new Sam440ep installer for Debian Jessie.

Spectre660,

No problem with hardinfo.

I couldn't downgrade xorg because I couldn't install the libpkg11. It seems to be not reliable now and they use version 20.
I am waiting for your debian jessie version. I will try to install it.

Edit: What version is the best for samflex, Ubuntu or debian jessie?

After loading the image and Ramdisk, the install failed during verification of ram disk.
Then, there is a reset.

The ramdisk seems ok as I can load it on my Sam460ex using a Sam460ex Kernel.
The CD boot unloads the Sam440ep kernel and ramdisk ok on the Sam460ex too
Of course it wont boot on the Sam460ex .
May need someone else to try before I can proceed to be sure .

every thing uncompressed ok on the Sam460ex but with a wrong kernel it can only reboot.
It should work ok on a Sam440ep.
