Hi
I'm sorry to say it, but I have to give up.
I have tried 4 different usbdisks with fat16 and afterwards with fat 32.
All newly formatted.
I get the same result with all of them: kernel panic.
I have run error check in gparted everything looks ok.
I will try to download again and try with a new file.

Have you seen any interesting error messages in the kernel panic output?

Hi
I think my kernel file was damaged. I downloaded it again.
I usually then rename the file, but I didn't this time and it booted fine.
Next time I'll put a kernel on the same disk that I know usually boots and if it doesn't boot either,
it's something wrong with the disk.
If the new one doesn't boot but the old one does, then there is something wrong with the new one.
Have a nice day
