Hi
Thanks for your help .
@ xeno74
Tty 7 only gives black screen
I had stopped X . I came in via console. I have network running , but can't install , update or upgrade.
Error about signature verification not live until 2025-05-25.
And error splitting of clear signed file /var/lib/apt/lists/deb.debian.org_debian-ports_dist_sid_inrelease failed as it doesn't contain all expected parts
And a lot more.

Have a nice day

Musa,

From Jeroen:
mintppc wrote: Sun May 25, 2025 6:50 am Hi Christian,

I don’t know what happened in this installation. It’s borked. Maybe try again? Use the same partition manager skateman used to resize, delete unallocated space (kde partition manager). Maybe use a live cd or other linux partition to do this.
I presume it does not matter that his machine is x1000 as opposed to the reported success installations on x5000.

Regards and a good day,
Jeroen
Thanks for your help.

@Musa
Please copy the disk image to the partition again and after that try to repair the partition with the KDE partition manager or with GParted.

Thanks,
Christian

Hi
I started from scratch Wrote a new img file to a usbstick. Fixed fstab. Renamed X. Booted Mint32 and could now enter tty1. Disabled lxdm. Network works and I can install from debian repo but get verifying signature error on mint repo. Renamed X back and started lightdm and got to graphical login which also worked. The speed is not high on a usbdisk, so now I want to copy the contents of my usbdisk to a hard disk partition.
Thanks to Xeno74 og Jeroen for the good advice
Have a nice day

So it looks like I had more success. I transferred the root image over the network to my X1000 using Warp in Debian from my laptop. I initially mounted a share on the desktop but it was too slow for my liking from using Samba. So then I used wormhole from my Mint laptop to send to Warp on Debian which has a native package and saved to my /tmp folder to keep it inside my ramdisk. :-D

After gunzipping the archive direct to a new ~20GB partition using dd, I then imported the new volume into my boot menu using kernel 6.22.12 with ramdisk. I rebooted into it and then got stuck on the UUIDs. I was aware of this but forgot to fix it up before booting into it. So I fixed up the fstab and rebooted. The fstab should really be fixed before the image is released. It contains a HFS volume and swap. Both these don't exist on another system or at least not where its pointing to. The main root UUID is fine. I simply disabled the other entries with a hash.

Another fresh reboot and the login screen eventually loaded. Sorted out the login and the desktop quickly loaded. This is promising. The desktop loaded up fairly quickly and I didn't need to touch xorg at all. The system apps are slightly different to the Mint I'm used too which is based on Cinnamon. I didn't get much time to explore. But I found a fault .The time was off off. Running Time Prefs crashed the time-admin program. From a CLI it looks like a missing reference on the file system. Not sure. Will try an update later, :-)

Thanks. That fixes that up. But the corner clock is still wrong. :-)
