It seems there are some issues with YouTube videos if you use the add-on ViewTube. I was able to solve it with the following user agent:
Code: Select all
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 10_2_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/602.4.6 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0 Mobile/14D27 Safari/602.1
You can configure the user agent with
about:config -
Search: useragent.override.youtube.com and set the value to
Mozilla/5.0 (iPad; CPU OS 10_2_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/602.4.6 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0 Mobile/14D27 Safari/602.1.
After that YouTube uses the mobile version of their site (
https://m.youtube.com) and this website works with the add-on ViewTube.

Thanks for the info! I installed it on MintPPC. It works, but unfortunately the 'long-term bug' with unvisible BookmarksToolbar titles is still present.

I see a new version of Arctic Fox was released 15 hours ago: 39.0.
I just downloaded
https://github.com/wicknix/Arctic-Fox/r ... pc.tar.bz2 and after unpacking it just works on Flenix fine.
Something with youtube through, always says in the shell "GLContext just crashed and is now disabled". Probably related to my gfx card being x1950 and not having ogl3.x support?

Thanks for the hint!

I will test it as soon as possible.

Are there any major improvements in this version? The big jump in version number would let to expect that. But when I tested it with MintPPC, at least the problem with bookmarks Toolbar and sound issues with some sites (sound comes out as a slow 'murmuring') are still there

.

Hi All,
I was able to install the deb package of Arctic Fox
39 on Void PPC today. It works without any problems.
Cheers,
Christian

This was my approach to getting Arcticfox 39 on Void:
amigaone@void-live ~]$ cp -r Downloads/usr/lib/arcticfox /usr/lib/
When I click Help > About Arctic Fox it assures me that I'm running Version: 39.0, but I wonder whether I have done it right.
The reason for my question is that the download included, besides a usr/lib/arcticfox also a usr/share. Am I supposed to do something with that?
At least it plays Youtube right, something I can't get eolie to do so far.
