Just testing now on MATE. System load is around 25% and slightly above. While Firefox is open. Early tests are good. Will try Mint next.

I looked up this error. Not much about it. Appears to mostly turn up when Linux is running in QEMU or some VM.

Thanks a lot for testing! :-)

Mint looks good! Xorg load was 2% until I loaded Arctic and now at 7% but smooth. I did notice this USB message. EM interference?

I wonder if it causes trouble with OS4. My keyboard is dead on boot a lot. And even more likely is dead keyboard in boot shell which is a bit useless.

New for the RC5:
We have continued to disable power management for PCI and PCI Express because of boot issues and performance issues (CONFIG_PCIEASPM and CONFIG_PCIEASPM_DEFAULT) #17
However, there is the vmlinux-6.18-aspm with patched PCIEASPM support available for testing.

Hi. Just an update on my where abouts. I've had some kernel trouble since the RC3. Some time has passed and now three generations later the RC5 is out. The main RC3 was fine but I tested the aspm variant and it broke on my system. I still want to collect logs but I got a different response depending on distro. On Mate Remix there was a message about PCI then it just stopped. I reset machine and tested Mint. This got further on boot but then it got stuck on SATA. My Bluray drive started flashing and it looked like it was trying to read a disc but none is in the drive. I had to reset machine there as well. Things have progressed with kernel updates but I still want to grab a serial log.

Hi Hypex,

Yes, aspm kernels have issues. The kernel developers are working on these issues. Does the default RC5 work?

Thanks for testing,
Christian
