Okay so I tested the last 6.15 RC1 on my systems and all boots went well. I've noticed some errors with modules for parallel ports, which the X1000 doesn't have onboard, so I don't know why it tries to load them. In any case the systems appear stable regardless. I've installed 6.2.22 stable but just need to test it. I'll likely test it with all my systems used for testing. Just need to switch some kernels and do a few reboots.

I've tested 6.12.22 on five systems and my testing wasn't so successful. On all my Ubuntu systems; Xenial, Bionic and Zesty (MATE) it failed with the common libpcre error. * I skipped Precise as it's too old. On Fienix it gave some message about /bin/fstype being in executable space then stalled. I gave up and booted Debian 64 which successfully booted and the only one I could boot.
* Running udevadm within dropped initramfs also fails on this error. Since the first thing it wants to do is check the filesystem with fsck, this also fails since fsck always fails if it can't load the libpcre library. This error seems to happen at random intervals. It would be specific to something required but it's only on some kernels. For example, the 6.15 kernel series in testing is fine, since it boots even though the version is higher. But the latest 6.12.22 kernel fails here. Even Precise has libpcre3 installed so not sure why this library keeps failing to load.

I have tested the kernel
6.12.22 on Void PPC (QEMU e5500 VM and X1000), Federa 28 Server PPC64 (X1000), MATE PowerPC Remix (QEMU e5500 VM), and on openSUSE Tumbleweed 20230628-3 PPC64 (X1000) without any problems so I can’t help because I don’t have such problems.
