The problem seems to be at the kernel level.
For some reason the Sams fail a test called a ring test so the hardware acceleration is disabled.
Any possible fix is way above my level.........

Maybe xeno74 can help a little, as he prepear X1000 linux kernels

xeno74: do you have any idea/path we can follow to add (or check) 3d accel on our little SAMs? TIA

But maybe point where to look in kernel/radeon_driver sources or .config or what did you change on X1000 kernel (if not closed source,NDAs,..) or if there is some kind of "ring test" code/exec to see what fails on SAMs.
