Both give usable speed when using the LXDE environment.
Lubuntu installation uses LXDE by default.
The Debian Wheezy installs Gnome by default.
you can install LXDE on the Debian Wheezy by typing the following in a root terminal
apt-get install lxde
then select lxde in the log-in box to use lxde instead of gnome.

Lubuntu 14.04 LTS netinstall iso. Kernal 3.14.0 .
Combined Sam440ep and Sam460ex installer 63.4MB size .
Defaults to using largest free contiguous space on hard drive for installation so make sure that you have the un-partitioned space at the end of the hard drive.
Select Lubuntu-Desktop when selecting software to install.
I have only tested it with a Sam440ep-flex .

Thommysammy has created some icons. I like the kernel drawer. I can use it for my boot partition where I save my kernels.

Sam440ep 3.15.0-rc1 kernel for testing.
Apart from not allowing a root terminal in Debian Wheezy it seems to run ok.

Sam460ex version coming up in a while.
