Cool!! What is the exact PCIe1 to PCIe8 converter you are using?

I am considering getting one for my Radeon 1900 pro so I can use OS4, MorphOS and Linux without having to swap cards all the time :-)

Hi John,

If you can wait a bit longer, i have ordered a PCIx4 to X16 cable to see if we can use the X4 slot just below the X16 slot of the X5000
PS to make use of the second card for Morphos, there might be a U-boot enhancement....

Ok. Thank you! I am using an R9 270X as my primary GFX-card. Interesting to hear your results.

Today the new PCIX4 to X16 cable arrived !! (16 euro on Ali Express)

Image

Now we can use the X4 port underneath the X16 slot due to the 90 degrees construction.

Now the Radeon 7450 LP graphics card fits under the RX 570.

Sounds great! Can you give a link to the product, please?

Is the X16 connector part somehow in contact with the motherboard? Can you place it also over a legacy pci slot?

Can you also connect a X4 card on it?

Hi Roland,

The link to the product: https://nl.aliexpress.com/item/10050034 ... 1d75PhKg2q

The X16 is not in contact with the mainboard since i am using a Low Profile form factor graphics card. Radeon 7450.
I am not sure if you can connect an X4 card on it... but why would you...since X16 cards are more easy to find.

Thank you for the info! I was thinking of a Sata6G/USB3 combo card model which has a X4 connector.

Did you notice any speed diffrence in your Graphics board, between the X1 and X4 adapters?

Cool. And it works as well as the PCIeX1 adaptor?
