Well I installed everything from scratch including update2.
So far everything works - excluding minigl apps - but I could never manage them to work since my on-board gfx died and I use pci gfx card.
I can live with this - even it's a pitty.

All screen modes work so far well under update2.
So i dared it again and installed U3 BUT....freezze.......

At this point I think I go on with Update2 - this works really good.
Having no USB 2.0 is acceptable - even it's a pitty.

But I really like to try out the new MUI OWB - but I guess for this Update3 is mandatory - at least the MUI classes.

Can I get the newest classes elsewhere or can I install U3 to another location then sys: and copy all new classes from there?

Just curious.

When you get to the last step in the Up3 process, are you un-checking the box that says something about
rebooting before clicking the Finalize in the lower right corner?

If not then give it a try, switching the computer completely off to reboot afterwards.

Your issue may have something to do with the uboot settings for using a PCI Graphics card in a Sam 440ep. You might be able get Acube's help here.

I can enter the early startup control and boot without startup-sequence.

Following on from AmigaWorld, how far does the Startup-Sequence get? At what command does it freeze?

Another thing may be the dual graphics card setup from Acube .

Thanx a lot so far for all your hints and time.

I installed update3 again and unchecked the last box to reboot and restartet the Amiga by switching off and on again.
Unfortunately the same problem ...

But I managed to find at least the command in startup-sequence that causes the lock:

It's c:LoadMonDrvs

When I uncomment it the system comes up into a 640x480 Workbench screen !

Is that maybe the point to look further?

In addition I mailed to Acube if they can provide me with u-boot settings but haven't got an answer yet.

I have uboot 1.31d and everything else set up!

Now I can use a resolution up to 1280x1024 with 256 colors pretty stable.
With RGB colors it's not stable - sometmimes freezes sometimes not.
ARGB32 is not possible at any resolution.

BUT it's a big step forward !!!

Sounds like it could still also be be a video card issue.
I had the same resolution limits with my defective card.
Try the GFXbench2d program again with the 16 bit and 32 bit screen options after booting with the 8 bit screen and see if it finishes ok.

These test all fail only 8 bit modes are okay with gfxbench2d.

But why did the card work correctly under update2 ???
There I coul use any mode?
