A-EON will release a new and very impressive Live Remix DVD.

Of course Debian for example.
Kernel_3.19-rc5_Mac-on-Linux-KVM-PR_AMIGA_one_X1000.jpg
Current versions:
  1. Debian 7.8 Wheezy
  2. Debian Sid (always in development)
  3. Debian 8.0 Jessie (in development)
I recommend Debian 7.8 Wheezy.

We have some other distributions only for testing. They aren't really stable. They are only for testing and researching.
  1. openSUSE 11.1-2
  2. openSUSE 12.3-1
  3. openSUSE 13.1
  4. Fedora 17
    Kernel_3.17-rc4_Fedora_A1-X1000.jpg
  5. SliTaz PPC Linux

    Image
  6. CRUX PPC (see AmigaONE X1000 Debian Squeeze Installation Guide v2.5.1.4)

  7. Gentoo Linux (recommended for expert Linux users only - see AmigaONE X1000 Debian Squeeze Installation Guide v2.5.1.4)

I'm still using Mint 11. It is based on Debian 7.8 and is regularly updated through it's Update manager.
It does all I need it to do. It is a lighter distro than Ubuntu and does not install things like Open Office, although available through Synaptic.

So if all you need is somthing more utility wise and don't care about playing 3D games and such it is IMHO the best distro. However, if you need all the bells, whistles, and the kitchen sink......stick with what Xeno is producing.

Also, I build my own kernels and it is surprizing how much stuff is really not necessary for a fully operational system on a particular set of hardware.

@Mechanic

You were right, MintPPC still works :D

I just reinstalled MintPPC 11 instead of Ubuntu.

I noticed you are using the 3.19 kernel. When I finish dinking around with 3.14 that will be my next project kernel.

Here is the latest Nemo patch for the kernel 3.19: nemo_3.19-2.patch.zip. Have a lot fun with compiling. :-)
