Well, I have updated the downloads page at http://www.amiupdate.net so that update.library 53.12 can be downloaded as a standalone archive, just in case anyone else has these problems. Download it, unpack it, and copy the library to SYS:Libs. Reboot and all should be working again.

This is still an issue with a new install of update 6. It says it can't open update.library 53.13+. I've fixed up now, but you'd expect it to be able to update itself form a fresh install, unless the problem is with the version included in Update 6.

I think you'll find this was an error that slipped into Update 6, where the main binary was updated without the library, hence it won't start.

There is little that can be done for those installing a fresh update 6 system. You simply need to go to the downloads page at http://www.amiupdate.net and download the latest archive to fix it.

can you also publish rollback v2.6+?
it is mentioned in bugreport #108 of amiupdate and fixed the bug with incorrectly/not shown versions in the rollback window.
