Please can you ensure the modern replacements are bootable?[/quote]
Would of course be nice, but i understand the need of getting rid of the obsolete, difficult Amiga-only file systems. We need a new universal standard for file systems. Something easy, stable, fast and used by everybody.

There are multiple firmwares on multiple hardware platforms with new platforms coming all the time while old ones move into maintenance mode. Expecting all the platforms will be able to boot new file systems is not a realistic expectation from my point of view. We'll try but don't get your hopes up.

I thought the SLB had the code in for this? Or is that platform specific?

It's probably best to let the developers use their time to work on new universal file system formats to use in the future of AmigaOS,
as i agree myself to move away from the obsolete, difficult Amiga-only file systems. The toughest challenge would probably be to incorporate
some kind of a compatibility with all Amiga file formats that are still used today, even JFXS. I trust the developers know what they are doing.
Let time show what will happen, shall we? There is no better choice than waiting. In the tiny Amiga market, things take more time than what we are used to, but that's how it is
and we all have to try to accept that. The developers and the team are doing their job. They know what to do, and they do listen. That's partly why these forums are available.
So try to relax, take a beer or two and enjoy life as best you can, and have faith.
