I don't quite understand. Why would there be a screen shot?
I haven't figured out how to do anything in adelie. I couldn't locate APK when I booted Adelie a few minutes ago.

I thought you was successful and you will post a screenshot.kilaueabart wrote: Thu Jul 04, 2024 2:16 am I don't quite understand. Why would there be a screen shot?

apk is the command for the package management.

Re: Adélie Linux
Maybe I wasn't entirely successful. All kinds of stuff came up but I couldn't find a way to do a screen shot. I think I need a terminal or at least a command line before I can use apk. And I hope to be able to use the internet, but it looks like I may have to supply IP numbers or whatever.
I'll try to post a photo from my phone. My Adelie screen on partly resembles your screen shots.

Re: Adélie Linux
Here is a picture of how adelie started today, from my phone, and reflecting the room in front of it. For some reason, I couldn't get it to stay right side up in the reduced picture, but it seems to flip upright if I click on it, so try that. The clock in the lower right corner is about seven hours fast. I tried to reset it, but the result was then 20 years, a couple months, and a few days fast. I was so relieved when I rebooted it and it came out with the right date and time.
This one was taken after I discovered that adelie was sensitive to the Print Screen button on my windows keyboard. It seems to have at least some of the numbers I thought I would need to get on the internet.
I spent a couple of hours experimenting with what my adelie set-up could and could not do. One of the nicest "coulds" was providing access to all the Linux files on my X5000. It shares some "couldn'ts" with my fienix. It won't display .png files or play audio files. It did bring up Audacious and the time marker went down the line to the end for one file type (.wma? mp3? My lousy memory). I couldn't remember then how to make sound come out of my X5000; I'll try again later. But I'm afraid the problems I have with fienix are largely hardware and adelie will just repeat them.
That two hours of experimenting did not find a way to connect to the internet, although it seemed a couple of times like I was getting close.
And still no access to APK. I don't think I found a terminal.

Re: Adélie Linux
Getting stupid in my old age is one of my many problems using the computer. I had gone to that page many times, in the hope that I might figure out how to link adelie to my phone via KDE, and right there, unseen, was KONSOLE.
Another problem (not a Linux problem) is that when trying to boot to the linux section on my X5000 it skips the menu where I could click "M" and type "run adelie." It goes directly to OS4, plays that little bit of welcome music as it opens a screen with a calendar showing the correct date and a clock with the current time. In the upper left corner, different things like "calendar 53.29 (11.11.2071)" or, this time, "clock 53.29 (1.6.2019)." Often I can't move the cursor and have to reboot several times before getting to the Command window. This time I could move the cursor in OS4 so I am doing this with Odyssey.
I am having problems with adelie. I have not been able to figure out how to get tools.
I have been trying things like "apk update" which I just assumes works OK, But "upgrade" doesn't do as well:
I get that "1 error; 719 MiB in 1880 packages" a lot. Does the "719 MiB in 1880 packages" name the error? It looks like it may come after "okay" sometimes, if that's what "OK:" means below:

I have the same error. We have to wait for a new vlc-libs package from Adélie.kilaueabart wrote: Sun Jul 07, 2024 6:21 am I have been trying things like "apk update" which I just assumes works OK, But "upgrade" doesn't do as well:I get that "1 error; 719 MiB in 1880 packages" a lot. Re: Adélie Linux
I wanted to check the final 6.10.0 kernel in adelie, but after a long wait for the log-on window it just opened a window called "Kopete" or something like that, asking me to set up some sort of secret key word. I had no idea what it was talking about so I tried to close it and ended up with a black screen with nothing bu a cursor arrow (moveable) in it.
I rebooted and tried closing the Kopete thing by clicking "Close" in the "Files" menu tag. Same black screen with a pointlessly movable arrow. What should I do, reinstall?

Does it still work with the RC7 of kernel 6.10?kilaueabart wrote: Wed Jul 17, 2024 1:53 am I wanted to check the final 6.10.0 kernel in adelie, but after a long wait for the log-on window it just opened a window called "Kopete" or something like that, asking me to set up some sort of secret key word.
