Not sure if this was asked before i searched and have not found anything.
is it possible to mount my X5000 NGFS SSD, in either A1222 4.1 Enhancer 2.0, or any Linux distro?
thanks
Keith

No, it's not possible.

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.

Re: Mount X5000 NGFS in linux
Is the critical point here the NGFS partition(s), or that the disk has AmigaOS bootblock? And further, are 'Ext' partitions incompatible with the Amiga bootblock or with some Amiga filesystems, so that they cannot exist on same disk?

Re: Mount X5000 NGFS in linux
The point is that the NGFS file structure bears no resemblance to anything that Linux supports. NGFS was designed to replace Amiga FFS.
It would be possible to write a Linux handler to read and write NGFS file systems, but you would need a team of experts in each platform to make it work, and there isn't any call for it at present.

@Freemilk:
The responses from Christian and Tony seem to only answer half your question, i.e. that Linux can't mount NGFS partitions.
I don't see any reason why you shouldn't be able to mount it on an A1222 under AmigaOS 4.1 (with or without Enhancer).
Best regards,
Niels

Yes, Niels, you are right. Sorry.
Yes, you can use the NGFS-formatted volume on AmigaOS running on an A1222 (but not Linux). If your version of NGFS is the original supplied with the X5000 or the A1222, I'll give you an update to the latest version, just PM me with an email address.
