Since most of the time when i´m bug hunting and starting the script over and over again it will sooner or later freeze the system (not the script, but the mere start of it in a shell) and then i have to open the guide again, find the page where i was etc. pp

A printed manual just lies there with the page i need open...

Yes, printed manuals are good in such situations, agreed.

In practice, I find I usually just need to refresh my memory about which string handling function I need for a specific task, or which arguments I can give a certain function etc. And there it's much faster to click around in an AmigaGuide.

BTW, I almost never see any actual crashes or freezes when developing in ARexx, just errors handled fairly nicely by ARexx with a legible message. YMMV, I guess.
