OK, i got it working :-D

A little cable shuffling and volume adjustments did the trick.
Everything is working as it should.

I can even loop MIDI through the card to a synth and back and IT.SOUNDS.AWESOME :-)
(USB to MIDI adaptor works as well)

btw: Thanks to Lylehaze for some pretty cool programs for MIDI ;-)

So on a X1000 the card works.
so it should now work to on a sam460ex?

dont know if it had the same problem with pci-e 1x slot as the sam, since the kernel of AOS is updated.
its a expensive card so i wanna know for sure it works.

If you are talking about the on-card MIDI loop cables...i can only say, i dont know what happened.

I dont want to blame one of the updates, but i know it worked when i installed the card. Now it wont anymore :-(

Installation (back when it still worked):

1) Get the camd_Envy24HT_tk.lha from the Depot
2) Install as told in the readme
3) Reboot and try the great programs (like CAMD_Play) from lylehazes CAMD.lha
4) You SHOULD have a Envy24HT.out.0 and Envy24HT.in.0 (spelling?) as entries were you should pick the .out.0 for playback

As i said...it worked upto a point where something changed (coul be one of the updates, but i dont know which one)...today i dont get those entries anymore (the Envy24HT camd entries arent there as if they arent loaded), the card still works though but wth the workaroun of an USB to MIDI adaptor.

I am using this MIDI to USB converter right now to send the stuff to my hardware (THIS funnily enough still works)

I think we have to activate lylehaze to hep us with this strange problem (of course, maybe i have a faulty installation, gotta check that as well).

Sorry to be of so little help :-(

Yes, that will automatically be installed anyway if you use the installer provided in the camdMIDI package

hmm, so it is also not only me which suffers from this behaviour...i REALLY need to inform lylehaze about this...

Gentlemen,

I have a good bit of experience with CAMD, and the USB driver, but I am JUST BEGINNING to learn about AHI drivers.
(I have been REALLY BUSY learning as much as I can).

SInce I don't have a Juli@ card, we'll need to work together to solve this.
Please check the following assumptions and make sure I understand the problem:

1>At some time in the past, The Juli@ driver gave good sound AND a working MIDI interface.
2>Lately, it STILL makes good sound, but the MIDI ports do not appear in CAMD.

Is that correct? I am trying to figure out if it's losing MIDI, or losing the entire card.
That will be a good place to start. Easiest way to check for ports is the "showclusters"
command from the CAMDTools package.

I will help if I can, but please be patient, I have a LOT going on lately.

Also, just for the record: Because of the way they interface with CAMD, USB MIDI ports
will ALWAYS be better than sound card ports. By "better" I mean better performance
AND a lighter load on the computer. Sound card drivers have to read and write
single bytes through the card, while USB devices handle streams of complete
MIDI messages, which is much faster and easier on CAMD.

I'll take a shot at keeping the existing sound card MIDI support working, but I seriously
doubt there will be any MIDI support for newer cards. USB is the future of MIDI.
