USB3-Card with X1000 without USB3-Driver as USB2 ?

Hi all.

I say some usb3-pcie-cards (with 20pin intern) with a NEC Chip on.
So can i use this inside my X1000 in a PCIe-slot with the ehci-kickstart.mod ?
It is so that in the Front of my X1000 is a USB3-Slot and in the Future when there is a USB3-Driver i dont must go to the Rear.
The latest OS4 Kernel uses I/O over PCIe so i can be possible.

Right? Wrong? Maybee? HaveFear?

Since I don't see a USB3 slot on the motherboard, I doubt we'll see a driver for USB3. Since there is no USB3 connector on the mother board, why did they switch the eSATA connector on the case to USB3? I bought a
Delock eSATAp front panel mount adapter. It was expensive but worth it; backups are really fast now.

Yes its true no USB3-Conector onboard but a PCIe x1 for a PCIe x1 USB3 Card !

Can a USB3-PCIe-x1 Card damage my X1000 ? Or its save to put it in and use it (just with USB2-Speed for now) until the USB3-Driver is out ?

News: I get a USB3-Card LinuxPPC see it but without a xHCI-HCD no Work. I pull it out for later if OS4.x and LinuxPPC can use it

Here give this a try with your new card.

install it to /lib/modules/3.5.7X1000/kernel/drivers/usb/host/

You will probably need to be root to do this, and I expect you'll need to create the 'host' directory

Once you've installed it run depmod, with luck it will find your card next reboot. (You could look up modprobe if you are in a hurry..)

dmesg | grep USB found a new "SuperSpeed USB-Device"
and it found my USB3-Stick the USB3-HDD and a USB3-SDXC_Cardreader.

BTW its this card: PCI-E USB 3.0 NEC D720201 Chipset 2 port 20-Pin Connector Control Card Adapter

I managed to find a similar USB 3.0 card in New Zealand. I've installed in in my A1-X1000 and can confirm your results with the 3.5.7 kernel and Daz's USB module driver.
