I have a small problem with the upd6 added "Update Software" command from WB's pull-down menu.
Executing it brings up AmiUpdate from it's AmiDock docky icon just fine (the docky icon will vanish in this case which is normal), but closing/minimizing the main program, will not send the docky icon back to it's place.
The same does work if i start it manually and close/minimize it, bring the main program back from it's docky icon by clicking on it and closing/minimizing it again.
Iconification is checked in "Updates Prefs" on "Iconify at startup" and chooser gadget is on "AmiDock Docky"

Just to update this...
AmiUpdate 2.24 didn't fix it

Re: AmiUpdate - Docky glitch
No, it wouldn't do. Because I cannot reproduce the problem, I cannot fix it. No-one else has ever reported anything similar either, so I'm stuck (or rather you are).

What machine are you running on?
If it is an X1000 then it might be that some of the components on there are still older than the other platforms. We are slowly updating them...

@ssolie
Hmm, ok, so i think i'll have to wait for other components to be updated then...still strange
@Rigo
Maybe it's my AmiDock setup?
I have AmiDock set up to "Place AppDockies in:" Name-of-the-Docky-to-be-put-in
and for some strange reason, it never reappears therein when i use "Update Software" from the menu
Maybe AmiDock has been updated since?
Let me know if i can do other tests to show you the behaviour

Re: AmiUpdate - Docky glitch
I don't know if your problem is slightly the same with mine.
I have configured the prefs to start AmiUpdate iconified and on the docky. When you click on the docky icon AmiUpdate runs normally and when you iconify it it goes back to the dock. But, while AmiUpdate is in AmiDock state and you attempt to run AmiUpdate from the pull-down menu, it wil run, but when you iconify it, it will not show on the AmiDock, so you have to quit AmiUpdate and run it again.

Re: AmiUpdate - Docky glitch
A few more details to clear it up.
The program itself is still in memory after calling "Update Software" from the menu and closing/iconifying it.
The menu item brings it immidiatly to front again after the docky icon disappeared and the program had been closed, Ranger says aswell it's still there, only it's not showing itself by any AppIcon or docky icon as explained above.
Not sure what happens here and probably it is already fixed anyway by updated OS components.

Re: AmiUpdate - Docky glitch
I'm still with the old 2.23 for now (i'm going to update now) but i noted that the dock icon does not seems to respect the icon scaling, for AmiDock i use 80% factor, the AmiUpdate dock icon still at 100% in any case ?Rigo wrote:No, it wouldn't do. Thats a "feature" not yet implemented.samo79 wrote:I'm still with the old 2.23 for now (i'm going to update now) but i noted that the dock icon does not seems to respect the icon scaling, for AmiDock i use 80% factor, the AmiUpdate dock icon still at 100% in any case ?Rigo wrote:No, it wouldn't do. The AmiUpdate docky icon is in fact an animation and those aren't handled by AmiDock's Icons reduction feature (yet).
I know Rigo knows about that one, because i especially bothered him to death with it
