Little problem in unarc

Post by turbo4.1 »

i found a little problem when i use unarc and lha OS4 2.15.
the problem can be verified as follows:
generate a lha archiv with lha, this archiv must be include files with a space in her names.
use unarc to dearchivate the lha file.
the files with the space in his names has now a underline instead. example Test 1.bin -> Test_1.bin.

when you look into the archiv, you find that the files has really a underlines, but if you dearchivate this archiv with lha-command directly you get the correct filenames without underline.

i hope that i not alone with this behaviour.

Interesting! Not confirmed from my side! Just did an archive with lha and unpacked it with UnArc. The archive in UnArc showed correctly the spaces in the filenames and it correctly dearchived the files including the spaces in the filenames.

Packed with: "lha -ar a", LhA 2.15 AOS4 Jan 3 2011
Unpacked with: UnArc 53.6 (18.4.2010), LIBS:XAD/LhA LhA 1.16

Check the version of your xadmaster.library, if my memory serves me correctly,
I believe there was a discussion and possibly a fix for something like this a while ago.

@cha05e90
You are using Chris Youngs updated and bugfixed LHA XAD-Client that can be found there:
http://aminet.net/package/util/arc/xad_lha

Somebody should update xadmaster.library (the old LHA client is a internal module (v1.13)) and include it in Update 5.

Somebody should update xadmaster.library (the old LHA client is a internal module (v1.13)) and include it in Update 5.
Those fixes (or some that achieve the same effect) are commited to CVS at libxad.sf.net, so a recompile of xadmaster.library will fix the problems with the internal module.

Until then I would recommend to install my external replacement (which is effectively the same thing).

Also note the space issue only occurs when the LhA is at header level 1 or above.

i found something else in Unarc, the keyboard shortcut for "Pattern" and "Open Destination" is the same, namely "p".

Maybe someone has the time to correct this.

unarc 53.9 (24.1.2013)

i wish a nice day to everybody! :)

p.s. I'm talking about the "quick" shortcut, the one without the Right-Amiga key (As RightAmiga-o works for the menu entry Project->Open

Which Locale are you using, as the texts and shortcuts will be in the catalog...

This is one of the reasons why it would be really useful if people would enter their "Location" in their forum profiles on the various Amiga fora ...

(I do realize that country and locale are not always related.)

Best regards,

I apologise, I was about to type it in, but I had to leave and submitted the draft anyway.

The locale is English. The mishap appears to be the same for "english", "british english", british english (€) and english (€)
