• Sound fixes (including USB-audio fixes)

• X1000: The reboot issue is still present. We still need the usbhid.patch.
• Linux Git log
• Phoronix articles, reviews and news stories covering Linux 6.2

I released the RC5 of kernel 6.2 for the X1000 and X5000 today.

New:

• Linux 6.2-rc5 Released - The Kernel Will Most Likely Be Extended Through 6.2-rc8 -- phoronix.com
• 6.2-rc5 announcement
• Amiga FFS filesystem fix
• USB / Thunderbolt fixes
• NFSd fixes
• X1000: The reboot issue has been solved. We don't need the usbhid.patch anymore.
• X5000/20: The CRC error is gone.
• Linux Git log
• Phoronix articles, reviews and news stories covering Linux 6.2

First, I want to thank everyone who is working on the new kernels.

I download it and I am wonder how to install them do I "cd / ; tar -xvzpf kernel.tgz"? Also, is there a specific distro that I need to be using to use the new kernel? I have been using Fienix.

Hi BSDHack,

Simple tar zxvf and copy the uImage to the boot partition on hard disks, USB sticks, internal micro SD card etc. Then copy the kernel modules directory to /lib/modules.

The new kernels for example 6.2 are suitable for new distributions like Fienix and the stable longterm kernel 5.10 for old ones for example Ubuntu 10.04.
