Re: New kernels
Hi All,
The alpha5 of kernel 5.17 is available for testing.
New:
Download: linux-image-5.17-alpha5-X1000_X5000.tar.gz
Note: XFS is great! You can grow the XFS filesystem without unmounting the hard disk/partition or virtual img after resizing the virtual img with "qemu-img resize" or after copying an img to a hard disk/partition. You can format a hard disk or img without creating any partitions.
Please test the kernels.
Thanks,
Christian

Re: New kernels
Maybe Void doesn't like 5.17a5? I had a lot of trouble getting it started, so I'm using InterWeb. But I seem to have Eolie (which I really need!) working on Workspace 2 now.

Re: New kernels
The first time I ran void with a5, Eolie came up but would not load a web page (this one, or my email). And I couldn't move it on screen, or turn it off. So I rebooted, but it told me Eolie was still running, and took a long time for the machine to shut down and restart. Then at first Eolie refused to launch, so I went to InterWeb, but meanwhile I tried Eolie on a different workspace and this time, no problem!xeno74 wrote: ↑Sun Jan 23, 2022 8:54 amWhich trouble did you have? Will see how it does with RC1 in a little while.
