Some confused jerk sent the following to the wrong panel yesterday:
"I forgot to test until today. RC6 is working on my original fienix. I don't know about void. It launched OK with rc6 but I couldn't get Eolie on screen. InterWeb came up in void, but I couldn't load this site or my email, so I clicked restart. Warning message, something like eolie is running. If you stop now you might lose work. I tried restarting void and it was a repeat of the first launch. Very relieved when fienix came up OK on next restart.
"Oh, oh! I typed the above, clicked preview and nothing happened. It has now been Connecting... for several minutes. I am saving this with Pluma on Sun Dec 26, 16:32, will find a way to send it later.
"Fienix5 comes up, using kernel 15.1. Will it sent this?"
(Obviously it did.)

Re: New kernels
Hi All,
I released the RC7 of kernel 5.16 for testing today.
New:
BTW, I compilied the new SuperTux 0.6.3 last week.
Download: supertux-0.6.3-linux-glibc2.23-ppc.tar.gz
You can start it with ./run_game.sh. It works on ubuntu MATE 16.04.7, Void PPC, MintPPC, and on Fienix.
You can also use OpenGL as renderer.
Please replace sdl with opengl20 in the file run_game.sh.
I wish you a Happy New Year 2022!
Cheers,
Christian

Re: New kernels
Well, I don't think I'll do this any more this year, but I have sort of tested 5.16.0-rc7 and it seems to work.
Let's all have a great 2022.

Re: New kernels
I've only tried it in Void so far.
But I'm puzzled. I feel like going from 5.16 to 5.10 is going backwards. What's the deal?Re: New kernels

This kernel is stable with a long support. It works better in virtual e5500 QEMU KVM HV machines and has already 89 sublevel versions.

Re: New kernels
Presumably of little value to me, then. I assume virtual e5500 QEMU KVM HV machines are way out of my reach.xeno74 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 04, 2022 4:18 am...kilaueabart wrote: ↑Mon Jan 03, 2022 9:56 pm I've only tried it in Void so far.
