Re: Kernel 5.15
Up and running with my new Radeon HD 6970 card
The graphic rendering is better and often functional. But the display of VLC via pipe-viewer still leaves a lot to be desired. It is surely not VLC which is in question, because if I play a video with a DVD, the image is excellent and the video fluid. I have tried all X11 video options etc. It does not change anything.
FS-UAE is working now, whereas it was crashing from the start.
I looked out the window from which suddenly the sound of a storm came. It's the card that blows hard, not the weather

Re: Kernel 5.15
Great! Thanks a lot for testing the RC6!
Have you also tested VLC 3.0.16 on Fienix yet?Amiguy wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 8:40 am The graphic rendering is better and often functional. Fienix is the best distribution for your Radeon HD6970 because it has the best results for hardware 3D acceleration.
Thank you for choosing Linux on your X5000.

Re: Kernel 5.15
Believe it or not RC6 seems to work in my Fienix.
(I wish InterWeb would too!)

Many thanks for testing! InterWeb works here. Have you seen any error messages?kilaueabart wrote: ↑Tue Oct 19, 2021 7:16 pm Believe it or not RC6 seems to work in my Fienix.

Re: Kernel 5.15
I overstated the problem. InterWeb generally works quickly, but slows to a stop on some sites, particularly financial institutions. Sometimes when it stops and clicking on anything on the window has no effect I can stop it with the force-close gadget in the upper right corner, then restart InterWeb and it will work fine for a while. Lately though, after a forced stop, if I try to start it again I am informed that "InterWeb is already running. You have to stop it or reboot the machine" (something like that), and I end up having to reboot. A bit annoying.

Maybe the Eolie WebKit web browser is your solution.kilaueabart wrote: ↑Wed Oct 20, 2021 7:10 pm I overstated the problem.
