Thanks a lot for testing! Interesting thing with the folder.kilaueabart wrote: ↑Mon Aug 16, 2021 9:24 pm Current situation here is "Kernel Linux 5.14.0-rc6_A-EON_X5000 ppc64" running. I'm not that good at testing to see any difference in how my computer runs with that compared to the final version of 5.13 which I usually boot nowadays unless there is a newer kernel to test.
One oddity that may go away when I reboot is that a little folder icon "Click here to hide all windows and show the desktop" that has always been in the very left bottom corner is spaced a ways off to the right from the corner.

The new kernel works very well for me, especially the sound that is now well supported by the Sound Blaster card

Re: Kernel 5.14
It was indeed a temporary fluke. It's back in the corner this morning, with the stack of three dots to its right. I hadn't realized those dots were missing yesterday.xeno74 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 17, 2021 3:21 am... Re: Kernel 5.14
Hi All,
Linus Torvalds has released the final kernel 5.14.
New:
Cheers,
Christian
Linus Torvalds has released the final kernel 5.14.
Thanks a lot to Skateman, Kilaueabart, Roland, Amiguy, Ace, and Hypex for testing the alphas and release candidates. He wrote: So I realize you must all still be busy with all the galas and fancy
balls and all the other 30th anniversary events, but at some point you
must be getting tired of the constant glitz, the fireworks, and the
champagne. That ball gown or tailcoat isn't the most comfortable
thing, either. The celebrations will go on for a few more weeks yet,
but you all may just need a breather from them.
And when that happens, I have just the thing for you - a new kernel
release to test and enjoy. Because 5.14 is out there, just waiting for
you to kick the tires and remind yourself what all the festivities are
about.
Of course, the poor tireless kernel maintainers won't have time for
the festivities, because for them, this just means that the merge
window will start tomorrow. We have another 30 years to look forward
to, after all. But for the rest of you, take a breather, build a
kernel, test it out, and then you can go back to the seemingly endless
party that I'm sure you just crawled out of.
