Fresh uInitrds?

Post by Roland »

Is there any newer uInitrd available than the 5.5-rc7...? It seems still to work but would it be possible to include automatically a fresh one with each 'finalized' kernel version ?-)

BTW, I'm very surprised if no one else here uses them...? It is MUCH easier to identify Linux partitions using their LABELs than with those cryptic UUID codestrings etc.!

Hi Roland,

You can compile it yourself. You can find instructions in the following screenshot:

There is no such package in the depot... (MintPPC). There is firmware-linux, but installing it did not eliminate the errors.

It's called linux-firmware in Ubuntu. I created a new uInitrd on ubuntu MATE 16.04.7 today.

Download: uInitrd-5.12

Please test it.

Hi Roland,

I have released a new uInitrd for the stable longterm kernel 5.10. You can find it in the kernel 5.10.39 package.

Download: linux-image-5.10.39-X1000_X5000.tar.gz

I tested it very intensively and it works without any problems on my X5000.
