InterWeb annoyance

Post by kilaueabart »

Fairly often when I am using InterWeb in Fienix, it will stop responding. The little white light near the power button on my X5000 will start flashing constantly more times a second than I can count. In the end I have to use the Force Quit option, providing I can move the mouse arrow where it needs to go. Thereafter once the white light quits blinking, I can restart InterWeb and it will almost always take up handily where it left off.

Does anyone reading this have any idea what is wrong, and how I might fix it?

One more (minor) problem apparently related to InterWeb. If I have been using that browser quite a bit before I shut down a session, either to restart (so I can check a new kernel, say) or for the night, I will almost always get that "Stop job running for User ID 1000" (something like that) for one minute 30 seconds.

Hi Kilaueabart,

How long can you use InterWeb? I successfully tested it very long with several open tabs including news tickers, webradio, and some other websites with Fienix on my X5000/40. I was able to monitor the CPU and RAM usage with the MATE System Monitor and they are normal (Memory used: 1.2GB, CPU usage: 7% - 25%). I also tested the same websites with Pale Moon on my Raspberry Pi 400 with 4x 2.2GHz and the CPU usage and the used Memory are the same as with the X5000/40. Both computers have the same performance.

Cheers,
Christian

Running Linux on AmigaONEs can require some tinkering.
