Faded Orb Web Browser

Post by xeno74 »

Hi All,

Wicknix has released a new web browser.

He wrote:
I didn't want to keep building unofficial Pale Moon 28 (new moon) for powerpc linux back when all this started to avoid conflicts. Well, i had a few spare hours last night and i rebranded it with a "spin off" name. If you like the UI of Arctic Fox or Pale Moon, you'll like this. Ready? Welcome "Faded Orb" to the family!

Currently built on Ubuntu 16.04.7, so sorry 12.04 users, you'll have to wait until i swap drives and do another build. It'll run on Ubuntu16, Debian10/Sid, and Void-PPC (glibc 32-bit).

Download: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1ZtWhfe ... sp=sharing
Packaged as .deb for easy install.
I also gave it a mobile user agent by default to lighten the load on sites that offer mobile layouts.

Please test it.

Thanks,
Christian

A new version of the Faded Orb Web browser is available. :-)

Updated 02/22/2021

Faded Orb browser is a rebranded Pale Moon 28. Notice the spin on the naming? Get it? ;-)

Download for Ubuntu 12/14/16, Debian 8/10/Sid, and Void-PPC (glibc version) (32-bit):

If there is already an older version installed (also from a .deb package), how should the installation be made? Should the old one be removed first?
And how about Fienix which has an older version installed from it's own depot...?

I was able to install the new Faded Orb 28.2021.02 on Fienix today. I didn't remove the old version. It works great with the latest ViewTube.
