I was trying to run from Synaptic all the updates available now for Fienix... There was a problem with mate-control-center - updating it from 1.22 to 1.24 to did not work. I removed it totally, and tried to reinstall it, but there were still problems which prevented the installation:
common_1.24.0-1_all.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/share/man/man1/mate-time-admin.1.gz', which is also in package mate-system-tools 1.8.1+dfsg1-2
E: /var/cache/apt/archives/mate-control-center_1.24.0-1_powerpc.deb: trying to overwrite '/usr/bin/mate-time-admin', which is also in package mate-system-tools 1.8.1+dfsg1-2
Are log files useless for determining the cause of problems?
It seems to me that things like what happens at 0.37s in the following must indicate something going wrong. Isn't something shutting down the system without my permission? So far I haven't had any luck finding out what a local X display or VT7 are.

I seems that attempts to update 'Mate' to 1.24 confused also the desktop badly... The cursor changed to a peculiar 'X' form, and windows do not anymore have close or resize gadgets! What should be done to fix this?
Is 'Mate 1.24' one way or another broken, so that it should be avoided...?
Casey is still rebuilding and updating many packages. He will inform us when he has finished his work.

FYI: If you experience any issues with the repository, downloading packages, or dependency issues for the next couple days it's because I'm rebuilding and updating many packages, and adding many new packages as well. Sorry for the inconvenience, but it will be pretty awesome when it's finished!
Thanks!

Hoping to have a disk image maybe tomorrow! Fienix Release Video
Sorry for the volume/mic issues, I'm sure I had something with my mic wrong!

Casey,
Thank you very much! Unfortunately I can't download any packages from your repository.
Please test it. I don't think trying to update your packages from an image you already have will work very well.
This is the OS image only. You need to have a boot partition with your uImage and .dtb set up. Remember to expand the image after copying it onto the disk.
Please try installing some apps from the repository and let me know if you have any issues. If you have an Android phone please try using KDEConnect and let me know if you ran into any trouble.
Casey
Up and running. Just tried KDE Connect with my Samsung S8+ and seems to work fine. Distro feels a fair bit faster. Just about to install some apps. Fantastic work, you should be proud of what you have achieved.
John
I used dd to copy the image to my partition, the passwords are the same as on Casey's webpage.

I have installed a variety of software all working well except Warzone 2100. It appears we need an updated version to match the data package which is newer, whilst the main package depends on an older version. Other than that fantastic work.
