Hi Roland,Roland wrote: ↑Wed Mar 31, 2021 10:47 am I tested this stand-alone VLC today... It works ok with Ubuntu, but with Fienix and MintPPC I get this error when trying to run mp4 videos:
Codec not supported:
VLC could not decode the format "h264" (H264 - MPEG-4 AVC (part 10))
Is there a way to get the h264 to work also with Fienix and MintPPC?
Please try VLC 3.0.12 without the included FFmpeg 4.3.1 on Fienix and MintPPC. This version uses the installed FFmpeg. I tested VLC 3.0.12 for the RC5 of kernel 5.12 on Fienix and MintPPC on Monday this week. I use the latest Mesa version on both distributions. The only thing I noticed was, that the file open dialog box doesn't work anymore with VLC 3.0.12 and 3.0.11.1 on MintPPC but I can watch H264 videos with VLC 3.0.12 and 3.0.11.1 with the latest Mesa version 20.3.5-0 on MintPPC. I use "My Videos" in the playlist for selecting the videos. Drag and drop also works with the playlist editor.
Thanks,
