Download and further information: github.com

Alternative download link: linux-image-6.12-rc5-2-X1000_X5000.tar.gz

Please test the compressed kernel modules.

Thanks,

I skipped the first 6.12 RC5 and went straight to rc5-2. It works in my fienix, but I don't know whether I am testing any compressed kernel modules or not, unless that is what rc5-2 automatically uses. If not, how do I find out if the compressed ones work?

You can install the compressed kernel modules with the following command:

Code: Select all

# cp -R 6.12.0-rc5-powerpc64-smp /lib/modules/
After that reboot your X5000. Then you can display the loaded kernel modules with lsmod.

Hi All,

Here is the stable long-term kernel 5.10.228-2 with XZ compressed kernel modules.

Download: github.com

Alternative download link: linux-image-5.10.228-2-X1000_X5000.tar.gz (xenosoft.de)

This kernel has been patched with the dpaa-v2.patch because of an issue with DPAA on Ubuntu 16.04.

It's suitable for old Linux distributions which don't work with the latest kernels for example Ubuntu 10.04.
It's also suitable if you have some issues with the latest kernels.

@Roland
Could you please test this kernel?

@All
Please test it.

Thanks,
Christian
