My hard drive was reporting errors and crashing.
I followed Amiga on the lake's Youtube video
AmigaOne X5000 USB AmigaOS4.1 Reinstall 1.0
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xsipaSitB64
I installed AmigaOS on a new SSD now I can't get it to boot.
I also tried to install to a USB flash drive.
If I boot to Workbench on the DVD the SSD has AmigaOS on it and seems to be working properly.
I was trying to enter the U-Boot menu with an incompatible Keyboard.
I'm now using a proper one.
When I choose AmigaOS I get a lot of not ready...
I have no Idea how the boot process works or the U-Boot commands
Any help would be appreciated
Here is a picture of the U-Boot when you choose AmigaOS

Re: AmigaOS only boots from install DVD
Hey Don,
I'd say that you forgot to mark the SSD volume as "bootable". Easily fixed.
Boot from the DVD and "Continue to Workbench". Then run Media ToolBox.
Select your SSD volume and the "Edit Partitions/Filesystems" button.
Select the system partition and make sure that the box marked "Bootable" is ticked/checked. Boot Priority can be left at zero.
Don't touch anything else in that window.
Then "OK - Save changes" and you're done. It should boot now.

Thanks, but I did have that set.
I followed the video exact.
Maybe Amiga On The Lake models have something different about them.
Well hare are pictures of my drive setup in media box.

Re: AmigaOS only boots from install DVD
OK, next guess...
Is the SSD connected to the motherboard SATA connector or to a SATA controller on the PCI bus?
IIRC the X-5000 U-Boot can only boot from devices attached to the on-board connectors.

It's on the motherboard. Sata1 I believe.
The only cards installed are for video, sound, and ethernet.

Wild guess here...
Judging from your screenshot i see
You clearly set your SSD at 1st drive in software (as shown in your later post) but maybe UBoot isn't yet in the state to access that information?
Does your DVD drive still feature a jumper which sets it to master/slave? (Probably not, but go check, and if so, set it to slave, probably remembering this from the SCSI ages, though)
And another guess would be to simply switch the onboard sata cables around between the DVD and SSD drive,
Good luck
edit: Are there more than SATA connectors on the X5000 mobo?
If so you can try to plug the SSD to the "0" labeled one and the DVD to the other...
Judging from your screenshot i see
so UBoot seems to to use your DVD as first drive on the chain while not finding your SSD et al.Device 0: (0:0) Vendor: HL-DT-ST Prod.: DVDRAM GH24NSB0 ...

Re: AmigaOS only boots from install DVD
The only physical thing I can see to do is switch the cables which makes it SATA0 but still won't boot.
Re: AmigaOS only boots from install DVD
I don't have an X5000, but if it's using UBoot, does it still need the SLB installed on the boot drive?
I notice your screenshots show that "no A1 Booter installed".

Re: AmigaOS only boots from install DVD
I noticed that same thing on the video from Amiga On The Lake.
I did search the CD for a SLB file and couldn't find one.
Unless someone knows better I'm assuming it's not needed or even available for the X5000.
