Multiple screens with icons

Post by JosDuchIt »

With Windows 10 an old and major advantage of the Amiga , multiple screensn has been improved upon.
When minimizing an application under Amiga the icon is always positioned on the Workbench.
In essence the proposition is
- When iconifying an application have the icon on the same screen.
- if possible have them iconified in the amidock bar.
The possibility to have amidock on different screens would be great too. The suggestion to also be able t remove icons from amidock (using arexx) would make this easier i guess.

BTW i read Amidock X ( enhance pack aeon) has advantages over Amidock. Comment on this?

Meh, leave the Windows advancements alone >:-)

Its better to say AmigaOS needs a better way of "screen and task switching".

Multiply solutions appeared to address the problem even in AmigaOS 3 era,
in OS4 era there were weird task switchers like http://os4depot.net/index.php?function= ... cher3d.lha

Or simple ones like http://os4depot.net/index.php?function= ... itcher.lha

But none became standard and OS part. Amiga curse!

Iconification is "kind of" nice solution, and yes, please to AmiDock and NOT WB.

Read Epsilons Experience on newest Enhancer v1.4
http://amigax1000.blogspot.com/2018/09/ ... x1000.html I ve tried 1.3 and its a wast improvement but does not disable old AmiDock
per se and does not work with old OS3 icons. Does not work - disappears. Other then this bug, its much fancier, easier to customize
and supports way advanced dockies if I remember right

You can find some 1.3 info on quite useful wiki pages
